Of note, Douglas was brother to William "Torchy" Peden, one of the all-time greats of Six Day. His number of Pro 6-day wins (38) is second only to Rik Van Steenbergen's 40. I don't think Douglas's pro record was nearly as stellar as Torchy's - but there's no shame in that!
