The two legged split rivets did turn up on some cheaper leather saddles
in the 50s.
Over this side of the Atlantic , the rivets are known to the better-off
serious collectors as " Bifurcated"... Lovely name...just rolls of the
tongue..but tends to sound quite rude when spoken by a native of
Cornwall or Devon!
