it's hard to remove the anodisation, but it's possible to remove it easy with an Alkyl fluid or ovencleaner. Try it first on useless parts, to be shure nothing goes wrong! After you putted the part in a bowl of water with Alkyl it will react, you can see bubbles coming from the part and it becomes black, then you can take it out and polish it. Warning, this is fluid is toxic, so you have to be carefull with it and can't trow it trough your toilet. get some gloves and wash the aluminium part carefully with water.
