OK, since we're talking survey:

I'm a tubular guy - all four of my road bikes are running tubulars, including the four year old, way out of period Fuji. Hey, when I got back into the sport, I went back to what I knew. Figured I could learn new stuff once I was back in shape.

However . . . . . the '69 Magneet, being my long haul fendered/panniered bike, has a set of 27" clincher wheels, too, currently running 27x1 - 110lb tyres, with a set of common 27x1-1/4 gumwalls available for switching over. We're talking identical Maillard hubs, to make the swap quick and simple. There's more than a few "improved" dirt and gravel roads around my area, and one place I will not take tubulars is off-pavement.

Still haven't gotten around to riding modern 700c clinchers. I keep getting put-off by everyone (lbs' and private individuals, both) telling me they're "99% as good as tubulars, without any of the drawbacks". As I've never found any drawbacks to tubs, why should I give up that 1%?
