The blue one was available on french ebay a few weeks ago. I contacted the seller to ask for the serial number and more detailed pics. I was suspicous because of the very untypical seat and chain stay ends. Answer was that the bike doesn't have a serial number because it is one of a special line of "budget" Singers without serial numbers (???). Also the high res pics he sent me resolved more questionalble details. External light cables, clumsy generator and light mounts, modern Berthoud fenders and hardware, Colnago Super like (Prugnat?) head tube lugs,.... If this is really a budget Singer it is pretty different from all normal Singer Randoneuses. For me the black one does even look more un-Singeresque in every detail.

No these are not carol singers arriving a little too late but a pair of Alex Singers, newly posted on French Ebay.
The pair is probably a "his" and "hers" pair as one of them is for a rider about 1m50 in height, around 5'. The item Nos are:-
290066857166 for the smaller one with a new gloss black respray, and the
other is 290066847800 for a 56cms bike still wearing its metallic light blue (polychromatic) finish that is claimed to be in an excellent state.
The specs of the bikes are similar with TA triple chainsets, Huret Jubilee gear sets, Mafac brakes. Prices are 700 and 950 euros respectively..with quite a few days to go.
I had thought of bidding for the larger bike but have changed my mind. If anyone is interested in bidding I would be willing to contact the seller to see if he will hold the bikes for about six weeks when I should be back in Paris. Failing that I have a friend there who would collect the machine(s) and store them until I get over again in the early months.
