Lou pointed out that one can change forks and use a fork drilled for brakes and not screw up your vintage track bike forks. Seems to me there was also a thread a couple of years ago on how to mount a bit of wood or something on the rear to accommodate a brake that does not screw up the integrity of the vintage frame, also...I'll wager it can be found in the archives. If a rear brake only will meet your needs, you're in business.
