Subject: [CR]Speaking of NAHMBS -- Track Ride

Heyo --

While I've got the North Amer. Hand Made Bike Show on my mind, some discussion has come up about rides at the show. I'll admit that I've had a hankering to get onto a track, but the nearest velodrome is way down in ... San Jose. Duh. And as it turns out, the track at Hellyer Park offers a beginners' ride on Saturday mornings starting at 8:30. They'll even rent you a bike (although you must bring your own shoes and pedals). The first seminar of the day doesn't begin until 10:30, and the track appears to be within 15 or 20 minutes of the Conference. Besides, if anyone gets a mechanical, you'd still be within walking distance of your car for the ride back to the Conference.

If you're interested in joining me, first take a look at the Hellyer websit e (below) and pop me an email. My bud, Robert St. Cyr, is already on board, and we'll be driving from the Marriott (next to the Convention Center). I honestly don't even think you need to be a real beginner, so long as you don't mind those of us who are!
