For Sale: MONTELATICI FRAME In 2002, one of our members, Matteo Brandi, found a group of 14 never ridden, never built-up, never even painted (!) frames in the back room of a
bike shop in Firenze, Italy. The owner, Vasco Montelatici, stated that the fram es were created to his specs, years earlier, by his old friend Cino Cinelli (i n Cino\u2019s shop); Vasco provided frames/bikes to his racing team. The vintage of these frames looked to be early to mid 1970?s. I purchased one of these and had it painted by Ed Litton (Port Richmond, Ca.). I believe mine to be ~1974 vintage. In keeping with the vintage, I a sked Ed to paint it white with red and to chrome the drop-out faces as well as fork crown. I chipped the rear right drop-out paint which was touched up.
The frame looks great, and there will be touch-up paint provided. The frame is 54cm c-t-c seat tube with 54.5 top tube. It rides beautifully, albeit not ridden much. The frame will come with a Record head set and BB. It takes long reach brake calipers (not included) with recessed bolt fit an d 27.2 seatpost. The fit is 130 at the rear. Price: $1,000 + $50 shipping. Please view (and review) Montelatici in the ITALY section of Classic Rendezvous. The first bike shown is this fine specimen. Please be sure to
read Anne Phillips' story of the frames as well. Les Himel _putter2451@aol.com_ (mailto:putter2451@aol.com)
