Hi CR list members,

For those of you who have always wanted to build your own frame but have lacked the opportunity, I'm holding a framebuilding class April 17 to 21. Be a KOF! The following week is also available for those that want to take more time to finish and do preparation for painting - or for those that just want to come latter to learn to paint a frame. There is still room for 1 or 2 more students. I assume class members have no prior brazing knowledge.

The cost is $1000 + materials (which generally run between $150 and $300). Accommodations are available very close by. I'm in Niles Michigan just above South Bend Indiana (Notre Dame University).

Most of you probably know who I am but for new listees, I learned framebuilding in England in 1975 and taught my first framebuilding class in 1976. Since then about 100 students have taken my course. I was inspired to teach this when I was apprenticing in England. I wanted to use my educational background (MA in education with 4 years teaching high school) to help others get the knowledge I was so anxious to learn myself.

I've been impressed that most students make a fairly nice frame, often better than commercially made ones and some way better.

If coming by car, I'm just off the Indiana toll road. Amtrak has a stop in Niles and South Bend has an airport serviced by several airlines. Chicago O'Hare is 117 miles away with a bus shuttle to this area.
