Someone mentioned the last GB anodized bars appearing on Raleighs mated with TTT stems, as were the Map of Britain bars earlier on the Raleigh Pro (including mine). Did GB ever make a bar with a 26.0 mm diameter at the stem clamp? Or did Raleigh just keep tightening down the 26.0 TTT stems to clamp the 25.4 GB bars? (What's a little 0.6 mm amongst mates?)

Model name such as Ventoux will probably refer just to the bend rather than the engraving pattern. Most of mine don't have a model name stamped on them, but the Ventouxs generally have a deeper drop than the unnamed ones I prefer.

I have heard that the more ornate leafy pattern was made for Dawes bikes, which coincides with my own observations, but they are usually stamped GB at one end.

Meanwhile, in light of recent ebay auctions, make friends with the Bank of England.
