Jack, I have three of those seatposts. I have no idea where they originate. The World Voyageur that I bought brand new back in '74 does NOT have one of these posts. My most recent World Voyageur purchase has one of these posts hopelessly stuck in it. I soaked with Liquide Wrench and then ammonia for weeks with no luck. That's why I knew right away that I had one of the posts you speak of.

This '72-'73 MIJ Schwinn World Voyager has a weird seatpost. In addition to diameter, it is marked with two words: The first word has strange characters that resemble Cyrillic; capitol C - strange looking cap Y - pi symbol - strange cap E - cap P. The second word is longhand script "Rider". Bike appears to have all original japanese components. I was just wonderin' if anyone else has seen one?
