I should like to note that Doug did this test run on my behalf. This was on top of selling me the rims at a very friendly price (probably less than he'd get at a local jumble). He has already made one trip to the post and will likely spend a ridiculous amount of time to carefully pack the rims to shave some shipping costs that will not be compensated other than by my gratitude. They will go on an EF Russ frame that I'll build up for my wife and daughter's use. Pete Paine is shipping the frame to me on the slow boat for 50GBP. I have no doubt that he'll spend considerable effort packing the frame that went for only 30 GBP (!) on eBay.
I'm grateful that Doug Smith, Peter Brown, Pete Paine, Mick Butler and the rest of the UK listmembers / sellers even bother to trade with us. I'd like to offer a heartfelt thanks to all of you folks from those among us that truly appreciate your efforts.
