hi all, my name is kevin i'm a 50 yr. old union carpenter from local 2250 red bank new jersey and have recently re-discovered my adolescent love of cycling and bicycles.i still have my 1969 raleigh grand prix that i customized with a campy valentino rear derailleur and a set of mavic red label tubulars on normandy hubs w/a m.atom freewheel and skewers that i got second hand in 1970 from the brielle cyclery.my first bike was(after the assorted sting rays and bananaseat bikes era} a raleigh record that disappeared in record time along with my buddy ed's green super course thanks to a 1.98 chain and probably a pair of linemans pliers.ed's family had some coin and the green super course was quickly replaced by the blue and whitegran sport.i was more than a little envious of the assorted peugeots and gitanes and one italian beauty the exact name escapes me that pete never failed to point out was all campagnolo! 34 yrs. later i happened upon complete bikes and frames on e-bay and was hooked.i bought a 1989 peugeot that i think is kof nicely lugged slx frame and forks all campy athena gruppo as originally equipped with a pantographed atax stem phillipe bars sachs maillard 7 spd freewheel sedisport chain and ta water bottle cage.i would like to know if it was even marketed in this country. mine says "dolomites" on the top tube while the 1989 dutch cat. on cycles retro-peugeot has a "galibier"model depicted all athena and reynolds 531. i also saw a team peugeot once that was very similar that had an imported from france sticker on it. i have since acquired my no name bianchi on craigslist n.j. it has shimano golden arrow levers and derailleurs bb no name headset some jazzy looking sr cranks blue red decals colombus cromor tubes and forks and a made in italy sticker above the shifters on down tube if any one can help with date or model from description, no pantographing on stays or forks just ihe remains of some decal on nicely sloped crown. bought a 57 cm schwinn tempo to try a smaller frame the peugeot is 60 and the bianchi is too. i'm 6' 0and 220 so i might build a 58 or 59 frame up for the hell of it but i'm used to a larger frame. sold the nishiki sport i picked up at a yard sale nice ride the wife is already making some noise about toys in the attic.the raleigh is on the block too its listed on cl n.j. april 2nd i think its a 25 inch frame. so there you have it. i could ramble on but i won't. keevin ruberg howell n.j.
