Hi Jerry,

I have experienced some btke shoe (this case Weinmann centerpull) to stop rollng backwards, I aplied brake and both pads came out, I used foot brake to jump of the bike, but I saw the Schwinn (approved) set had an extra "L" bracket to hold the rubber pad down for backward braking, I thought this was a clever idea.

BTW, original MAFAC pads are wrapped in Al base, they will not have the problem of losing/ slipping out the rubber pads from holders.
