"Seeing all the amazing bikes at Cirque has got me fired up about the idea of parking one or more of mine on the floor next year. And seeing how there were no Japanese bikes on the floor this year, what better choice than my '78 (as near as I can tell, based on component labels and such) Centurion Professional. So it's not a big name, small production bike... it's one I actually own, instead of dream of, and it's in pretty darn good shape. ...... No clue what pedals or saddle it would have had... right now I have SPDs and a Brooks on it, but for "show" purposes I'd probably put something like a pair of MKS track pedals on it. But what would have been original I wonder?"

I don't recall if anyone responded to Tim's question, but it's been on my "to do" list, if only because it resonated with me.

My best guess would be one of the KKT pedals; probably one of the Pro-Ace models. These were generally copies of the Campy pedals, but with a better finish on the body. Sort of a satin anodizing. I still have a pair that I got around '76. Very nicely made.

Pics are in the Palo Alto catalog, page 19 & 20: http://bulgier.net/pics/bike/Catalogs/PaloAlto-76/

The MKS pedals are a good pedal to use, no doubt. I prefer to subject "modern" MKS pedals to regular abuse instead of wearing out my Campy's. ...and I may need to explain that I still use slotted cleats exclusively.
