Hello all. I apologise to Dale and other interested parties for not sharing - I didn't realise that there would be the interest in the States!
SJS Cycles, as mentioned by Joel, is one of the sources one source I was referring to. The other possible source for Schwalbe Tyres is Peter Paine, a CR list member, email: Petebike7@btopenworld.com. He seemed able to lay his hands on 26X1 1/4 Schwalbes at a reasonable price (cheaper than SJS, and with amber walls) even though they are no longer in production. Whether he can still do so, I don't know, since it's some months since I last bought some from him, but it's worth a try.
If those of you who want these tyres don't have any success from these sources, let me know, and I'll try one or two other contacts, but I don't know how successful that would be.
I wonder whther Schwalbe would do a one-off production run if enough people gave a firm commitment to buy? Might be worth investigating, if all else fails.
