If we can't all agree that the pink Colnago on Ebay is a fake, can we all agree that the Gios Super Record now on Ebay is bogus? The seller claims to have checked the Sheldon Brown website and thusly come up with a date of 1980 based on the serial number. What possible data base could he have checked to arrive at that conclusion? I am not outright condemning the seller, but wondering how he could have gone so far as to be checking serial numbers and didn't realize that a real Gios doesn't have bolt on derailleur hangers, nor solid gas pipe bottom brackets, nor gold outlining around the heavy handed lugs, nor fork crowns that look like royal neck ruffles. Does anyone want to give this guy the benefit of the doubt?
