So, do JIS axles work with Nervar Star? Do they work with Campy? I've used JIS axles extensively with Stronglight and TA arms, and they work fine, as in fact one of the older editions of Sutherland's points out. But I've never tried JIS axles with Campy or clones. What is list members" experience?

I'll would have to measure to be certain, but I have an old Nervar Star BB which (without actually measuring) resembles Campagnolo; and I have an early '80s Nervar crankset from a Peugeot PGN-10 that uses a spindle which resembles (again, without actually measuring) a JIS taper piece.
What's the story?
