Aldo,
I wrote long ago and told you how much I like (and identify with) this poem.
I have a short tale of woe to tell you of similar sticky catastrophe. I had
a crooked brand new tubular and was determined that if I just glued it on
straight, all would be well. I ended up trying to twist the darned tire
onto the glue coated rim. Of course the underside of the tire was glue
coated also. After a half hour or more of struggle I got it on...crookedly.
I had gotten the glue all over the finger tips of one hand. The skin there
was either glued to the tire or the rim, but it sure was gone!
Talk about pain! My hand was so sore I could hardly touch anything for
about ten days. Ah, the joys of tubulars...
