While I really love my Magneet (if you're curious go to photobucket.com, ty pe Sykerocker in the search field), it's nowhere near worth $250.00. The b ike probably sold for a maximum of $100.00 back in '69, and I understand th at '70 was the last year, as they were all badged as Batavus' after that (B atavus owned Magneet).
On the other hand, if you're interested in a re ally nice rendition of what later became the Bike Boom Cheapie, I can't rec ommend a Magneet highly enough. The frame was very decently done, the pain t is nice and incredibly thick, and I'm finding the geometry makes a real n ice low buck period tourer. Of course, I've dumped the Valentinos for SunT our Honor GT/Compe-V derailleurs, and got rid of the bolt on steel wheels f or alloy with quick releases - about what I would have done with the bike h ad I owned it new back in '69-72.
