Try upholsterer's webbing. It comes in rolls, varying widths, dense cotton weave with minimum stretch, inexpensive and also ideal for handlebar tape as used by list member Sam Lingo. Art Link,San Antonio,TX

I have a pair of Clement Paris-Roubaix tubulars and the base tape has peeled off the tires, I would like to replace the base tape myself and need to know a source for base tape. Also what glue does one use? I guess the next question is should I not even bother and send them off to Tire Alert in Fla for reconditioning?
thanks,
