I just happen to have some alternates to Campagnolo on ebay right now. I'm selling them for a friend who is cleaning out his shop's back room.

There is a set of NOS Specialized sealed bearing hubs. I remember many people bought these instead of Campagnolo becaused of the fact that they had sealed bearings and were believed to need much less maintenance. I believe they were made by Suntour. They have a nice shiny surface too (not as shiny as Eric Elman's mirrorized hubs but shiny nonetheless.

There is also a set of NOS American Classic hubs. These ones are perculiar in that they were made to fit either 126 or 130 mm rear hub width. Being American made, some bought these out of a sense of national pride. They too have sealed bearings.

For alternative cranks, there is an NOS set of Avocet cranks (made by Ofmega) and a set of Ofmega Mistral cranks (that includes and Italian thread BB). From a pure design perspective, I find both of these cranks to be more refined and less industrial in appearance.
