I am generally in favor of bicycle restorations and here is why.... The most important thing about restoring an old bike is not just restoring the bike to look like it once did but to restore the emotion and excitement a buyer or owner would have had proudly riding the bike when it was bright, new and full of promise. How many of us have had the experience of receiving a frame back from the painter, lovingly installing each restored or NOS part and standing back to admire it when it was completed. What we are doing is restoring the original sense of awe we would have had seeing it back in 1975 in the window of our local bike store. The restoration is as much a restoration of the owner as it is of the bike.
