Mark:

Regarding Zeus cranks: other than the "Competicion" model, 70's and 80's Zeus cranks use a relatively small (119 or 120mm) bolt circle which only Zeus rings will fit. The small bolt circle allows a standard double crank to have a 36T ring.

The associated 70's/80's Zeus spindle is 118mm; a Zeus crank will fit on a campy spindle but will sit closer to the centerline than normal.

Like all the major parts makers, Zeus parts came in English, French, and Italian threads. Zeus cranks that were purchased as aftermarket parts in the US are typically English. If you happen to buy a crank that was stripped off a factory-spec Zeus bike it will have French threads (Eibar is about 40 miles from the French border). But Zeus didn't call them French threads, they called them "metric threads".

At one time Baron Corpuz had a stock of Zeus 36T rings and sundries, and another listmember who goes by "Radmaenner" on Ebay sometimes offers Zeus groupsets in Italian threads.

You mean the Zeus double crankset could take a 36 inner ring? Would I have to change my Super/nuvo Record bb? ( 83 Masi from San Marcos I think it is Italian threaded BB)
