Why is it that we need Dale to decree a Norris Lockley "Attaboy Exclusion Act"? Because only he can end an informative and well written post with two words "sheer magic" and mean it?

Strata "South of France" bends, cotton racing caps and racing goggles sum up "real" road racing that resonates, at least with me, more than anything else. How does Norris, this arch Francophile, thrive on this list? It's a miracle for sure and prompts one to pine for day when Le Cirque lives up to its name and adopts a French theme.

Now, the closest I've gotten to a "South of France" bend is my GB "Maitland Road" bend on my '58 RRA and it's, well, a sheer delight for those of us who like to ride on the bends a la "Continental" and not just because we don't want to risk mucking up the last pair of original white GB Superhoods we have.

All of which gets me in the mood for my maiden ride with my 1980 Gilles Berthoud racing bike tomorrow even if the bars are Philippe Professionnele and I don't own a pair of goggles... I'll wear my white cotton cap, though.
