Oooh, I had a gent's one of these when I lived in France, made it into a sort of mountain bike...

It was made with aluminum tubes in the main triangle, held into steel lugs by rivets. Not a great design. On mine the joints at the head tube were scary loose, and I bodged together a setup using hose clamps to help hold it together.

Because 90% of bicycle collectors are guys. Also, men and especially boys tend to ride more abusively than women and girls, so more of the gent's models get wrecked.
