Carlton "Competition" with db Reynolds 531 (decals at least ;-) )

There is no chrome on fork or stays; fork has 'BREVCAMPAGNOLO' drops, rea r drops look like they are cut from simple plate steel - not cast & no ma rkings.

The serial number is WP6004892, which Jerry Mortimore's site puts at Nove mber 76. Don Gillies had clues re the drops, and Peter Kohler suggested significan t similarities between Carlton and Raleigh by 76.

It still looks like there could be a variety of rational period options. Does anyone have an old flyer, catalogue page, or brochure listing: headset -- cranks drive train - could be Campy Record or NR ... but perhaps also Simplex as was on earlier years (indicated on the 72 page on CR)? Or maybe Huret, f ound on Raleighs of the time? cogs - Maillard (if Simplex) or Regina (if Campy) brakes - I'm thinking Weinmann (600s?) hubs? (I've got a Normandy hub & Weinmann wheel set that will at least ge t this on the road in good order) Stem bars (Raleigh? Maes? GB? - something French from the period?)

My challenge is that some of the many cpies of catalogue pages I've found show only some of these items form some of the models for some of the ye ars -- plus or minus a couple of years and I've still got a close but ecl ectic mix ...

Botom line -- this is part of the fun for me, tracking down info; but sti ll looking for the right 1976 Competition specific parts list ...
