Question about how 1950s British bikes with fixed/multispeed hubs were used. Did you remove the derailers when riding fixed ? Did you carry another chain in your Carradice ? Would you have a front derailer with a fixed/multispeed hub ?

aside, what does DA mean when talking about the CTC ? Bike is a late 40s Bates with 50s markings.
