I bought a triple set of TA rings recently (2-3 years ago) from Mike Barry. The middle 48 toothed ring had that extra reinforcing web. Curious, I put a caliper on them. The new one was half a mm thinner than the old style ring. If memory serves me, 3.5 mm rather than 4.0. I ended up polishing up my old set, the teeth looked 98% as good as the new ones so this (newer) chainset is just looking cool on my shop wall at the moment mounted to a Stronglight 49D arm.
Happy trails,

One of the things I frequently search for on Eboy is TA crank items. I have a set of TA arms that I've been riding since '71, they have about a zillion miles on them (try that with your campy records) and have seen with my own eyes the weirdest of all TA chainrings, the 130 tooth monster hanging in Mike Barry's shop that is a replica of Meiffret's world record hardware.
But what's the story on these ? I heard that the inner reinforcing web was meant for the center ring on a tandem ?
