All,

I have ben tasked with fixing my moms bike, a really cheap super heavy catalog bike from the late 70's to help her follow DR's orders and get some low impact exercise- she can't afford a new bike. I have a pile of decent quality parts Ofmega/Suntour/Shimano/Campy from the late 70's to mid 80's so I think I may be better off finding a frame and building it up.

Can anyone recommend a decent quality step thru or mixte type frame from the late 70's to mid 80's that I could build for her? I'm pretty sure there are no step-thru Colnago's or Ciocc's out there, but surely there must be something interesting.

Thanks, Matt Hamilton Oakland, Ca
