To clarify, I recommend the rearmost location of the wheel as a means to fine-tune the working length of the chain rather than the possible advantage of a tiny increase in chainstay length. And, with half-step (5 tooth or less difference between chainrings) front gearing, Nuovo Record rear derailleurs easily shift the chain onto 30 tooth cogs. David Feldman Vancouver, WA
