Subject: [CR]Wood-filled rims?

eBay has these rims

"Very Rare NOS 36 Hole Scheeren Wood Filled Tubular Rims Item number: 220076413125

Rare German made Scheeren Standard wood-filled alloy 700c 36 hole tubular rims from the 1960's. New old stock, wrapper just removed for photography. These are very light, estimated at 220g each. I have seen these rims on many Italian and French racing bikes of the period, including Masi, Cinelli, Herse and many other famous marques. Don't miss this opportunity to purchase one of the few sets of NOS rims for your vintage restoration."

What is the story here? Are these wooden rims that have been wrapped in aluminum? Are they aluminum rims with wood inserts? In any case it eems like a lot of work. What are the benefits? Does anyone have experience with these?

I have no relation to the seller
