I and probably a few others (list member Freek Faro?) object to you using the word freak in a disparaging way.
When I was in my teens and twenties it was a badge of honor. Might still have positive connotations today I believe, but meaning changed to mean an attractive young lady. Though even that meaning is probably past its prime slang-wise.
