Again, I would have to research, but I think DT sells the wire too.

I've used stainless steel wire used on aircraft, since I have loads of it. I fluxed each tie real good, and the solder (of which I also have loads of) stuck.

The wheels I did were not high wheelers like many of yours, but 700c.
