Tom: Thanks for the unsolicited commercial. I should have about 20 bikes, at least 15 with wood rims, and quite a few with the US Royal / Gillette type road racer single tube tires. It's not a giant display but will show an historical cross section of American and some foreign bikes. Names like Pierce, Shelby, Iver Johnson, Schwinn, and others. One great bike to see will be Heinz Vopel's 6-day bike, all chrome plated 1938/39 Durkopp. Original Lohmann saddle and high flange Durk hubs. The Merkens curve down stem and original 6-day bar will make you want to get on and sprint. I'll try to get some good shots of the bikes before showtime, and John Waner has agreed to help post them in time if the unruly CR mob is nice to us. A number of bikes have been been sold, promised to folks some years ago, but many primo velos are still available and will be for sale at the Velo Rondezvous VII. I'll post pics and prices for the members to peruse. I should keep all of them, because they are an integral part of our heritage and nice to look at and enjoy. Each bike will come with a list of parts and as much literature, background, and provenance as I have. I'm working on the archive material, have about 27 binders under way almost full of "neat stuff" and more to go. This will keep me busy for a while and it seems like a good time for me to pass the hard and soft treasures along to the next caretakers as I get the material in better order. Having the valued members of the CR list to learn from and share with has been a pleasure. I'm going to stay active restoring bikes and researching and generally having fun with this gang. Even though I'm selling these bikes off now, you all know I'm gonna have to get a few more to play with. But it will be hard to duplicate the variety, because the availabilty is getting scarcer. All the more fun. Just don't tell my wife.
