Subject: [CR]95 BCD cranksets

Robert Broderick did a service to our little community with his catalogs and ephemera colection. Thanks!

I checked my Shimano 600 3-Arm crank and it is indeed 95mm BCD.

Now I wonder:

Did Shimano come up with a new BCD all on their own, or did they copy an existing crank?

RH cranks may have been their inspiration. Does anyone know the BCD on Herse cranks?

The CT-Seizan site has a few short 3-arm cranks (http://homepage1.nifty.com/ct-seizan/sub03.html)

including a TA Herse copy http://homepage1.nifty.com/ct-seizan/ta3rh484234.jpg

early Deore LX's were 3 arm http://homepage1.nifty.com/ct-seizan/lxrh4628.jpg

and Shimano XTRs http://homepage1.nifty.com/ct-seizan/lxrh4628.jpg

This is for a good cause: finding equivalent rings for an on-topic touring crankset.
