Hi Gearge, I have a similarly finished (trans blue over chrome) Scapin purchased from a reasonably close ebay store early last year. It is an Italian maker of about 45 years, still producing handmade bikes. From the information i could gather, they use a cad system to size up the bike, then hand assemble the parts with a high effort to quality. this is exemplified in my frame. the previous owner of my bike seemed to be a racer from the interesting box of parts that accompanied the bike for the auction. the bike was set up all Dura Ace with tubulars, my guess early 80's. I have ridden the bike only a couple of times, but found it less lively than many of my others. this may have more to do with the set up, the tubulars are old and what came with the bike, and i am not used to the Dura ace multispeed drivetrain. I do find my Dura Ace contemporary track hubs a joy on my 70's Serotta track bike however, so this is not my bias for campy. I will be tweaking things on it as i think it is me rather than the bike and usually I seem to be able to maximize my personal ride by fit adjustments, wheel modifications, saddle and bar tape. this often takes a bit of time however. If it were my size, I would consider it, but i consider any track bike in my size as I ride fixed predominately...gabriel
