For those of you in the know or experts from the time what were standard handlebar treatments in the late-1940s and 1950s? How did British and Continental treatments differ?
Also, how were the GB Hiduminium Standard brake levers dealt with - tape, shockstop hoods, etc.?
I note in the archives (included below) that Pete Paine had repro shockstops made at one time. Has anyone tried these? Are they still available anywhere?

Hello All I have had some lever hoods made for the early(1948) type GB levers made. They are a copy of the Shockstop which I think were the = only hoods available for this lever. =A37 pair plus post =20 I have a jpeg with one fitted . These may fit other early levers too
