I quoute from previous posting I guess it hasn't occurred to ListOberHauptmann that indolence regarding the (many, petty) rules might be passive-aggressive chafing at the bondage-and-discipline tenor of this list. Or that the time invested maintaining that might be more productively spent doing something else. Some things for the membership to consider: how popular is this particular rule, and is it really necessary?

Dale Brown carped, sanctimoniously:

>exaggeration"

At the risk of becoming even more of a popular guy, I fully support the need for respect of rules. This list it appears is open to people from the world over, and it's nice to see where people are from. NYC I just know about, I think I saw it in Starsky and Hutch once. The rest of America, you don't spell it to me in full, it's redneck territory. I tell you where I'm from, you want to come over and holler, you know where to find me. It is a form of politeness, information, and assuming responsability for what one writes, not hiding behind some initials or just signing GW or something. Anyhow, the point is, the man who runs this list is Dale Brown, and if he says jump, you either jump or you get pushed. That is normal.

And heck, has anybody heard about "Word" or any other processor, you record a doc to the desktop ? Just write the signoff in it, open on click or double, double click to select all, press Ctrl and letter "c" on keyboard, enlarge your mail window to full size, move mouse, and ctrl + "v". 5 to 10 seconds for a full readymade signoff.

You don't have strict rules, you have immediate anarchy. Fact. You think everybody knows every ghost town in the States, you are isolationist per se. You don't like views from people outside the States, you are going to end up awful ignorant, the knowledge is spread across the world. Just like the passion for Vintage steel.
