Hi all, I know many CR list users have Dremel tools to help with restoration work and so I hope the list doesn't mind me asking their opinion on tools specifically for on topic use.

I'm seeking advice as to what model to buy, specifically a rechargeable or a hard wired unit and ultimately what attachements I should look out for.

My uses are likely to be polishing of chromework like lugs etc and a bit of alloy polishing with simichrome, also a little paint precision paint removal, ie where new paintwork has filled stamped frame areas.

I think the mobility and flexibility by not having the wire in the way is a real benefit of a rechargeable - but like many rechargeable items in our disposable society, are they as good and built to last as a wired tool?

Also, I have seen some hard wired ones with variable speed control, is this necessary?

I appreciate the collective advice of the list.

Thanks
