Poyners was a shop in Leamington Spa - twenty five years ago I had a Carlton International frame with what appeared to be original paint and Poyners transfers - I would be pretty certain that Carlton sold frames to Poyners for labelling with their own transfers. Carlton frames normally have a frame number on the rear nearside dropout starting with a single letter. Its worth checking the fork steerer too. If no number is present it's quite possible Carlton did not number the frames they sold to bike shops for their own name. This frame I am sure is a Carlton from c1959-65 - the details are all very Carltonish.
