Subject: [CR]Campy Bottom Bracket Madness- Help me make sense of it

When it comes to campy bottom brackets, I always find myself confused.

So I'm in search of a bit of wisdom.

The first problem is that I am trying to piece together a campy pista

BB. I have a 68-P-120 spindle and recently came across a set a thin wall cups- which I believe are the correct cups for a pista BB- No?

My understanding is that Campy Record (on topic, not c-record) Pista bottom brackets use 3/16 ball bearings. However, when I installed the

BB in the 68mm shell, the adjustable cup went all the way in the shell

and was still loose. So just for kicks, I tried a set of campy 1/4 balls and voilĂ , it fit perfect.

So where did I go wrong? Were bearing sizes between NR and SR pista bottom brackets different. Perhaps mine is NR and I was using SR bearings.

Thanks in advance for everyones help. While it may take me sometime to

respond, I'm always very thankful for the advice I am given- and if for any reason I've forgotten to thank anyone in the past for their help or advice, I'd like to send out a big "thank you" now. It's not as personal, but better than not.
