Subject: [CR]Raleigh Pro 1980 / 81 questons

Friends: Several months ago I scored a quite nice 1980 / 81 Raleigh Pro (Pat 1980 derail). Getting ready to rebuild it and get it ready for Vintage rides. Seems to be all original with the exception of Chain /Freewheel and Rims. Advice on what it may have come with on the showroom floor would be appreciated. I am guessing Gold Regina FW, wide 6 speed, and Chain (not drilled) I am guessing some form of Mavic tubular rim with ferrules?

Puttered around with it a bit this evening, it is in quite stunning condition. I am guessing original owner put on a wide range FW, and thus had to replace chain, and also clincherized it (MA-40's). After that did not ride it much.

Did a 30 -ish mile ride after work today on my 1978 Raleigh pro - now commuter bike. I felt like crap and am not sure why. Probably just not eating right during the day. Surely the '78 (in rough condition) is not jealous of the 80 - 81??
