I like the practical application of these learning seminars which go beyond when to restore or differences in frame design and or equipment. Topics that have been often asked about on the list include sew-up tire gluing and repair, chain repair, hub and pedal race/cup removal, setting steel crank cotter pins, nailing on shoe cleats, addedto the already mentioned and more, How about a video which could be rented or sold for non attendees that could help defray some of whatever costs or charity donation or combo? Chuck Schmidt has had some of these things at his Velo Rendezvous, but they weren't quite successful enuf to keep having them. Maybe the West Coast guys just like a bike show and prefer one day as compared to several? Anyhow, I think the idea is excellent and worthy of trial. The National Bike Dealers Association show used to have wheelbuilding and flat tire changing contests. Lots of fun. Then it got too commercial as costs of show went up and it went by the wayside. Many vendors didn't like the show stopping events like roller races as it drew too many people and cut into their business. Sad. Of course we still have the scantilly clad women. Hmmm. Would they be free or at a reasonable fee?
