Well after all the sluthing by Dale and myself to try to solve the riddle of this frame, I am now convinced that it isn't a Dawes ( not that I ever really thought it was..just a long, long shot due to the lugs and top eyes..).
Dawes would never in the 40s/50s had access to that model of Campag track drop-out ! The clever money is therefore back on its French origins, but the fork can't be original...but might have come off of some real French oldy..
