A fellow I bought a crankset from has offered for sale a 1948 Hill Special.

Will sell frame or complete bike quite reasonably but you would pay shipping

from the UK. Here is his note:

Hi Bob I am considering selling the Hill Special, It's a 1948 Padiham factor y build. (Pre Blackpool) and Badged I will send some pictures. Frame No (o n fork Steerer) 1 7 4 8 . 7. It  has a campag headset and a Bayliss & Wiley floating oil bath Bottom Bracket with top up oiler. It has Chater Lea rear ends. completely lugless. I have owned since 1968. The top tube has a few dents bu t the integrity of the frame is not compromised and rides very well. It would  benefit from a paint job and Transfers are avaiable from nick-at -llolds@compuserve.com I concidered painting and re transferring it but it would take the originality away. Regards and Best Wishes  BARRY.

contact him directly at > ronaldlucas@talktalk.net he can send pictures.
> I've seen the pics and it looks pretty decent. Fillet brazed frame with
> round fork blades and double plate crown.
> No relation to seller.
