The seller is clueless. He had this bike on craigslist and the Schwinn Forum and has listed the serial number as 435 and A435, though a photo of it does truly show it as 432 (the same as the other "confused" seller in Michigan awhile back trying to pass the other 432 off as a '39 racer, when it was actually a '50s tourist -- and asking $25K for it).

The red bike does have slanted chainstay caps -- he just didn't understand the question and responded that the chainstays were round. Funny ...

Not sure why the duplicate serial numbers. Perhaps Wastyn vs. in-house Schwinn builds and resequencing of the numbers at some point (?).

BTW, the Schwinn Clubmans I referred to earlier -- well, apparently that whole thing may have been a scam, so I apologise for wasting anyones time (or money!) if you got involved with that. I had no affiliation other than I was overly excited that some possibly rare bikes had been unearthed.
