Below is a list of items which I've put up on Ebay. Two frames from Verona in Italy this week and from about the same time period... There are some really rather nice frames - if it was my size I would definitely be keeping the Grandis - the more I see of good Grandis frames the more I rate them and the Raleigh track frame must be one of the last steel track frames to be built at Raleigh and is in very sound condition. The Chesini is an excellent frame which just deserves a nice restoration. I sold the Henry Burton a few months ago but the buyer discovered I had made a mistake with my measurements and so In have taken it back to relist - its a great Reynolds 753 frame which will be ideal for Audax light touring. I was surprised the Gianni Motta did not sell a couple of weeks ago but it was around Xmas... Its a very well built frame with unusual extremely long point lugs and I would guess its quite an early example of the marque. And for devotees of earlier English frames the Merlin road frame is really rather nice - the lugs are quite a cut above the ordinary... Last but certainly not least is the Locatelli frame with Campag Paris-Roubaix ends - frames with ends for Corsa gears are fairly common but those for Paris-Roubaix gears are much rarer almost certainly due to Paris-Roubaix gears being obsolete when introduced... There are some other lovely parts and accessories too - the Huret Louison Bobert gear is in unusually good condition with all the special features - drilled pulleys and extra cage tension cable... There's also a Ciocc panto'd chainring and some panto'd Gianni Motta parts. But for me the Shimano 10mm pitch transmission set is the most special item - certainly in the UK they are very rare, this is only the second one I have ever seen, my own set I bought in Germany back in the early 90s. And the early Cinelli bars are certainly uncommon - no anodizing and 3-ring knurling date them to the early 60s.
The auctions finish on Sunday as usual and all are best found using my ebay identity hilarystone or go to:
