As soon as sending the above, I remembered an Andre Bertin from the Bicycle Specialties website described as having Dia Compe centrepulls mounted on brazed-on bosses (a more elegant name than "studs," certainly.)

So I suppose it's possible. Does it take special bosses? Does it work with Mafac bosses? Does one merely substitute Mafac springs?
