The casing of the early "white label" Grand Bois tires was indeed similar to the Panaracer Paselas. The current Grand Bois tires use a different casing. In Bicycle Quarterly's tests of tire resistance, we saw a very noticeable improvement in performance after they changed the casing. On the road, the comfort also was improved. (Grand Bois changed the casing after we sent them the results of our first tire tests.)

Disclaimer: Vintage Bicycle Press sells Grand Bois tires.
